About Dan

I moved to Las Vegas in 2011 to cover the industry up close and never left. Since then my beat has been the machinery behind the games people play worldwide: which providers are shipping what, how operators are doing, and what regulators from Nevada to London to Sydney are about to change. The news desk at Level Up exists because most casino "news" pages are either press releases pasted whole or promotion dressed up as reporting, and a reader deserves to know which is which.

The way I work is simple. Each day I go through the industry wires, regulator feeds and provider release calendars, pick the handful of stories that actually matter to players — in the US, UK, Canada and Australia — and rewrite them in plain English with the original source named and linked at the bottom. If a story only matters to investors or conference panels, it doesn't run here.

What I cover

New slot releases you can usually demo free on Level Up the same week, bonus and promo developments worth acting on, and the regulation, enforcement and operator moves that decide where people can play next, across every market we serve. When a story touches a brand or guide we cover, I link our page on it so you can go one level deeper.

Standards

Every post credits its source. I don't publish numbers, quotes or dates that aren't in the reporting I'm citing, and thin stories get skipped rather than padded. News never carries a sign-up pitch; where money is involved, the responsible-gambling line is 1-800-GAMBLER.
